FDA Dance Academy:
Terms & Conditions

Welcome to FDA Dance Academy! These terms and conditions govern the relationship between FDA Dance Academy (hereafter “FDA”) and our students, parents, and guardians. By enrolling in our classes, workshops, camps, or any other programs, you agree to comply with these terms.

1. Registration and Enrollment

  • Registration Process: All students must complete the registration form and provide accurate, up-to-date personal and contact information before starting classes.

  • Age and Class Requirements: Each class has specific age and skill requirements. Students must enroll in classes suited to their age and skill level unless otherwise approved by the instructor.

  • Medical Information: Parents/guardians must disclose any relevant medical information about the student that may affect participation in dance activities.

2. Payment Policies

  • Tuition Fees: All tuition fees must be paid in full before the start of each term/session. Accepted payment methods include [bank transfer, credit/debit card, etc.].

  • Due Dates: Payments are due at the start of each session. Failure to pay on time may result in a late fee of 5 GBP and could lead to suspension from classes until payment is made.

  • Flexible Payment Plans: FDA offers flexible payment plans upon request, which must be arranged in advance. Adherence to the agreed-upon schedule is required.

3. Deposits

  • Non-Refundable Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 15 GBP is required upon registration to secure a place in the class. This amount is deducted from the total tuition fee.

  • Deposit for Special Programs: Camps, workshops, and intensives require a deposit of 15GBP at the time of booking. This deposit is also non-refundable.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

  • Student-Initiated Cancellations:

    • Regular Classes: Students who cancel enrollment before the start of the term may receive a refund of tuition paid, minus the registration deposit.

    • Mid-Term Cancellations: If a student cancels enrollment after the term has started, refunds will only apply to unused classes and are subject to an administrative fee 

    • Camps and Workshops: Cancellations for camps and workshops require notice at least A WEEK before the start date to qualify for a partial refund, minus the deposit.

  • FDA-Initiated Cancellations: FDA reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes due to low enrollment, instructor availability, or other unforeseen circumstances. Full refunds or credits will be provided in these cases.

5. Attendance and Make-Up Classes

  • Regular Attendance: Students are encouraged to attend all scheduled classes for consistency and progress. If unable to attend, please notify FDA as early as possible.

  • Missed Classes: Missed classes will not be refunded, but make-up sessions may be offered, subject to class availability.

  • Holidays and Academy Closures: FDA observes certain holidays and will communicate scheduled closures in advance. No refunds or make-up classes will be provided for these closures.

6. Code of Conduct

  • Behavior Expectations: FDA strives to create a positive and respectful environment. Disruptive or inappropriate behavior by students or guardians may result in suspension or dismissal.

  • Dress Code: All students must follow FDA’s dress code policy, which ensures safety and appropriateness during class activities. Failure to adhere to the dress code may affect class participation.

  • Use of Mobile Phones: Mobile phones must be turned off or set to silent mode during class.

7. Health and Safety

  • Medical Disclosure: Students (or their guardians) must disclose any medical conditions that could impact participation.

  • Injury: FDA is not liable for injuries sustained during classes or on academy premises. However, we are committed to maintaining a safe environment and adhering to best practices.

  • First Aid and Emergencies: In the event of an emergency, FDA staff will take reasonable steps to seek medical assistance and contact the emergency contacts provided at registration.

8. Trial Classes and Taster Days

  • Booking: Trial classes must be pre-booked and are subject to availability. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

  • Trial Class Fees: FDA offers trial classes or taster days, which may be free or have a nominal fee. The trial fee is payable in advance, and attending a trial class does not guarantee a place in regular classes.

  • Participation in Trials: Students participating in a trial or taster day must adhere to all health, safety, and conduct guidelines.

9. Photography and Media Consent

  • Photos and Videos: FDA may occasionally take photos or videos of students during classes, performances, or events for use in promotional materials, on social media, or on our website.

  • Consent: By enrolling, you consent to FDA using these images unless you opt out in writing at registration. Opting out will not affect participation in classes.

10. Liability and Insurance

  • Public Liability Insurance: FDA holds a public liability insurance policy that provides coverage for all classes and activities, ensuring peace of mind for students, parents, and guardians.

  • License and Coverage: FDA operates under an official license and holds all required insurance and permits to provide dance education and activities, adhering to all local, state, and federal guidelines.

  • Personal Property: FDA is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to students’ personal belongings on academy premises. Students are encouraged to leave valuables at home.

  • Student Responsibility: Students participate at their own risk. Parents and guardians acknowledge the physical nature of dance and assume all associated risks.

11. Withdrawal and Dismissal Policy

  • Withdrawal: If a student chooses to withdraw mid-term, written notice is required at least A MONTH in advance. Refunds for unused classes will be issued according to FDA’s cancellation policy.

  • Dismissal: FDA reserves the right to dismiss a student for disruptive behavior, repeated non-compliance with academy policies, or non-payment of fees.

12. Terms for Independent Contractors

  • Tax Responsibility: All contractors or instructors at FDA are considered independent contractors and are responsible for managing and paying their own state and federal taxes.

  • Contract Obligations: Contractors are expected to adhere to FDA’s code of conduct and policies and to maintain a professional relationship with students and parents.

13. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

FDA reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to enrolled students and/or their guardians, and continued participation will imply acceptance of the revised terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of UNITED KINGDOM, ENGLAND, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
